Logistics
You are responsible for arranging your own flight to Israel/Palestine. We will have buses leaving Jerusalem and Tel Aviv at 6:00 am on
Thursday morning May 28, 2009. We recommend arriving earlier in the week to adjust to the time change and Israeli climate. IPCRI will make arrangements with some Jerusalem hotels for reduced rates for pre- and post- Walk the Green Line events.
Fundraising, Registration, and Money
In some ways, the most powerful educational impact of the Walk the Green Line is the walk itself - being in Israel/Palestine and seeing the country from a new perspective, the challenge of the walk itself and the taking part in an event with special political significance. We could ask you to pay a registration fee, cover the Walk's costs, and call it a day. But we don't, because fundraising is central to the Walk's broader impact. The Walk's proceeds work far and wide to create the kind of world we want to live in. While the walk itself is an amazing experience, one of our keys goal is to raise money to support the Walk's beneficiaries: IPCRI - the Israel/Palestine Center for Research and Information.
Each participant is required to raise a minimum of $2,500 or 2,000€, although in the past most people have raised more. Spouses and life partners of walkers, those under 30 years old and those who are visiting Israel/Palestine for the first time are asked to raise a minimum of $2,500 or 2,000€ while Israeli and Palestinian citizens living in Israel or Palestine are asked to raise a minimum of $1,250 or 1000€.
The funds that you
raise should be sent into
IPCRI as you raise them. Checks inthe US can be paid to the order of
"The Friends of IPCRI". Checks from other parts of the world should be
written to the order of "IPCRI". All checks should be mailed to:
IPCRI
PO Box 9321

In addition, we send each participant a guide to fundraising with tips, suggestions, and sample fundraising letters (for an online version, see our fundraising page).
The Walk covers virtually all of your costs while on the Walk in Israel/Palestine including hotel stays, three full meals a day plus water and mid-day snacks. The walk is fully supported with professional guides, medical personnel, accompanying vehicles, transportation of all of your luggage, as well as your transportation back from the final point of the Walk back to the Tel Aviv or Jerusalem area at the end of the Walk.
You are responsible for your flight to Israel, as well as any costs prior to the Walk or after
Saturday night May 30, 2009.
